What is the best AI model for portraits in Luren AI?

For close, detailed portraits, Google's Nano Banana Pro is the usual pick: it is built for detail and for keeping the same person consistent, at 2K or 4K, and it needs Pro. Without Pro, ByteDance's Seedream 4.5 gives natural, photographic portraits at 2K or 4K. The best choice still depends on your photo and the look you want, so it is worth trying the same idea on two models.

Which model for which portrait

  • Nano Banana Pro (Google, Pro): detail and a consistent face at 2K or 4K. Good for close-ups and headshots.
  • Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana 2.1 (Google): keep your face while they change the scene, outfit or light, up to 4K, open to everyone.
  • Seedream 4.5 (ByteDance): natural, photographic results, and it can combine several reference photos.
  • GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (OpenAI, Pro): precise edits when you refine one portrait over several rounds.
  • Grok Imagine (xAI): bold, stylised looks rather than realism.

Or let a style decide

The portrait styles in the Filters tab, such as the Portrait Studio collection, come with a model and a tested prompt, so you only add your photo. They are the quickest way to a headshot or a studio portrait.

Get more from any model

The photo matters more than the model: a sharp, well-lit face gives every model more to keep. Describe the scene and the light in full sentences, and say what must stay the same. The AI portrait prompts have examples to adapt.
