Split a photo into a seamless Instagram carousel
A panorama shrinks to a thin strip in a single post. Split it into carousel slides instead, and it scrolls as one continuous picture when people swipe. Choose the number of slides and their shape, then download them in order.
Do it with AI Image extender A split or a grid needs a wide picture. The AI image extender widens a photo so it fills every tile. See image extender results → Carousel splitter in three steps
- 1
Add a wide photo
Panoramas and wide landscapes work best.
- 2
Choose slides and shape
2 to 10 slides, portrait 4:5, square or 3:4.
- 3

Carousel splitter: questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The file is read by your browser and processed on your device; nothing is uploaded to a server, so there is nothing for us to keep.
How many slides should I use?
Divide the photo's width by its height and multiply by 0.8 for 4:5 slides: a 4:1 panorama works well as three or four slides. The preview shows the cut lines so you can judge.
Why use 4:5 slides?
4:5 portrait slides fill the most screen space in the feed. Every slide in a carousel shares the first slide's shape, so keep them all the same.
